Mount Pleasant has both an east and west summit, each with spectacular views. You can see hikers on the saddle of Cold Mountain from the summit of Mount Pleasant.

DEVILS MARBLEYARD

An epic oversized rock scramble with some rocks as large as a truck. This hike requires a good amount of climbing but the view at the top is well worth the climb.

DRAGONS TOOTH

Located in Jefferson National Forest. This rock formation juts out of Cove Mountain like a dragon's tooth as the name describes. There are short sections of rock scramble on the trail as well as several campsites.

MCAFEE KNOB

One of the most photographed places on the Appalachian Trail you can get amazing views from this rock overhang on a clear day. Campbells Shelter is just off the trail.

APPLE ORCHARD FALLS

This trail follows streams most of the way to a 200 foot waterfall. Take in the falls from the viewing area located in Jefferson National Forest.

ROCKY ROW & JAMES RIVER FOOTBRIDGE

Start at the $2.0 million AT footbridge that crosses the James River then make your way up the AT to a view of the James River cutting it's way through the Blue Ridge Mountains.

CASACADES

Located in Jefferson National Forest, this delightful trail follows little stony creek to a 66 foot waterfall. This hike is a 20-minute drive from Mountain Lake Lodge aka Kellerman’s from Dirty Dancing.
